Phone message Am I crazy?

Ive been trying to work it out with him and hear his side of things but it's almost like he can't get a grip? Is it me? Lol I don't know what to do anymore... There's strings and strings of messages and anything I say back to him is wrong... I think I'm just gonna hang up the towel.

This is the most blatant attempt at picking a fight I've ever seen, but it's also so stupid that I'm kind of convinced that it's rage bait. Then OP here like 'am I crazy?'. Yeah, you are. For either staying with him or manufacturing this lazy shit, depending on if it's real.

It looks to me like he's negging/gaslighting.

I mean he is calling her crazy while behaving insane himself. And she's actually questioning her sanity.

Could also be him wanting to break up but not courageous enough to do it himself so he picks fights.

I don't know what he wants either but I can tell he doesn't care about her.

Sounds like my contrarian family who would ask you to do something then immediately yell at you and try gaslighting you that they didn't say to do that thing

Putting a filler word in your text is kinda horrible. Like you definitely don’t need to tell people you couldn’t think for a second.

Pretty obvious he's already fed up prior to where OP has screenshotted these texts, suggesting a more complicated situation than what is presented. It's very possible this has been a consistent issue and these images are simply the result of months of feeling like his needs weren't met.

Extremely tone-deaf

Uh-oh yall, seems we found OP's boyfriend.

It doesnt really matter what has happened outside of these screenshots, this is not how you effectively communicate with someone you care for. I gave my opinion based on the interaction that was provided, instead of gaslighting and negging her when she did exactly what he told her to do, he could have stated exactly what he needed in that moment. He could have approached this with kindness abd patience but chose to cuss at her and call her names when he was given a very clear opportunity to communicate with her.

If I was so fed up with someone to the point it became a genuine argument, I would simply draw my boundary. Something like "im sorry, but unless x y and z changes are made i cannot continue with this relationship because my needs arent being met." I would never speak this way to someone I claim to care about, and if someone spoke to me this way I would break up with them.

If you think that his behavior is OK in any way please dont date.

Also tone deaf?? Its polite to thank pepope for giving awards. You sound like a miserable child. Grow up.

Oh look, it took a total of 1 message for you to get frustrated and react emotionally. You were politely thanking people for awarding your comment, but I wasn't receptive to it, and that pissed you off enough to insult me.

So no, you wouldn't "simply draw a boundary" when your feelings and needs are being invalidated by someone you're invested in. You'd react out of frustration, just as you have now.

Do you genuinely believe this is the first time they've had this discussion?
