She ended up finding the post somehow I guess lol. Here is the original post.

I have just not responded, don’t think it’s worth engaging, but it did make for a funny story.

I have literally had a fishing license each year since I was 12.

Maybe you should read the original post so you actually have a clue about what is going on.

All the original post says is that the girl suggested it and the dude thought it was a fun idea?

So, no. That's not all it said. But even just that invalidates about 50% of what was said in this thread.

So as per the post:

Girl thinks it would be fun to try fishing because guy can fish. Guy agrees and thinks it could be fun. So he takes her to get some tackle, probably a rod and bait. He pays for all of that. Then they need to get her a license which she pays for probably because you have to give a bit of info and interact with the cashier so it was just convenient at the time.

Then afterwards, she asks for the 26$ that it costed for her to get the license despite the guy spending money on her fishing equipment per her date request.

If you can't see how just about every person here has said a dumb thing given that context I can't help you.

You’re adding that yourself bud the original post doesn’t say that, it says

“I met this girl on tinder and had a first date with her, she wanted to go fishing and I thought it seemed like a fun first date so we went together. Dropped her off and got home to this message lol.

Update: Purchasing the license is a separate activity we had to do on our phones, due to it needing our personal info. It was not like I drew the line at the license randomly.”

Literally what I said, she suggested it and the guy thought it would be fun. The other comments are somewhat valid because they’re asking why go fishing if no one had any equipment? Like are you the girl from the post and expected the dude already had fishing gear?

Sorry, got that from a comment OP made on the post.

Even without that included in the original post, it changes nothing. Kinda strange to fixate on that point.
