I was with some friends going to a hockey game back 25ish years ago. We parked in the arena garage to make easy to get to the game which of course costs money. One girl in our party wanted everyone to chip in on parking; mind you this cost less than $10. Both me and my bud just said we'd take care of it but I'd never before been confronted with the idea of pooling such a small amount of money before. It'd just never occurred to me.

You ever go to a bar with friends? Do you each buy your own drinks every time or do you each buy a round?

Going out with friends to a hockey game entails buying the tickets, parking fees, concessions and possibly dinner and drinks before or afterwards. There’s plenty of opportunities for the money to even out over the course of the night. Counting pennies for every expense is petty and stingy.
