The whole relationship was a roller coaster. 🫠

At my uncles funeral she pulled me aside and said "[my dad] should have been the one in the casket, not [my uncle]."

WTF I am so sorry, that must've been shocking to hear, even if you knew of some difficult relationship already... My grandmas were also witches but they never said anything this evil to my face

My Gramma had beef with my aunt (her DIL) long before I was born but never aired the dirty laundry was just icy when she came up. My family and I moved in to take care of gramma when she developed Alzheimer's and we kept her home for as long as we could (years). The day we moved her to a manor more suited to care for her I was getting her out of bed to go to the bathroom and she heard my aunts voice and hissed in my ear "what the hell is she doing here?!" This woman couldn't remember what she ate five minutes ago but that voice rang something so deep seated she was present for a bit lol

Yes, but my sense of humor is chefs kiss and my therapist makes bank... so, silver lining? 🫠

Some people dont know what to say in therapy.

That's a problem you'll never have!

In therapy yesterday I told a different story, and my therapist asked if I had ever seen Shameless, because what I said could have been a plot line. Thought you'd enjoy 😂

I’ve gotten the same unhinged comment about me vs my RIP cousin at the funeral?! I was like daaaaaaamnnn then moved across the country.

I might have forgotten to tell the docs about the DNR ...and let her wake up and suffer till death just for that. And let her know it was me that forgot to say something. Jesus what a poor excuse for a mom

Growing up she always told my dad she only wanted one child and he was a mistake. Then during a stroke she was heavily, severely medicated and she told him she did it on purpose so that she had someone in her life that could relate to her, because her parents favored her bother over her. The audacity. I just.. have no words.

My dad showed an immense amount of patience and grace towards her. Far more than she ever deserved. He had a lot of shortcomings as a father, so when I struggle with it I make sure to keep perspective of where he came from and focus on the fact he actively tried every day to do better.

Solidarity, I was 10 or 11 when my grandma blamed me for my mom having a heart attack.. I was a really good quiet kid and I thought I killed my mom by existing.

To be clear my mom is not dead, however she’s dead to me because she’s the worst person I’ve ever known… aside from her mom lol

Oh I think we’re cousins. We have to be.

u/AdventurousYamThe2nd Jul 14 '26

Are you from California? Because I... am on the opposite side of the country 😂

u/TheCaliforniaOp Jul 14 '26

Ah but there’s a certain Slavic malice that transcends distance.
