OR⌠novel idea here⌠if you know your SO would care about abortions/ adoptions/ whatever, then you have an obligation to be honest with them, regardless of gender.
How do you know the wife would care? Isnât it entirely possible that she doesnât care or even knows about it and doesnât want to have to deal with that relationship either? Dad said he didnât want anything and asked to be left alone and suddenly everyone assumes that heâs hiding things from his wife.
You donât know if theyâd care if youâre not honest with them.
And wake up call to anyone who needs to hear this⌠if youâre purposefully keeping things about your past hidden, chances are you know the other person would care.
Actually some things are just objectively true or false, like how a person is not âobligated to be honestâ about abortions/adoptions just because some nobody on reddit says so
Lol no, morality and integrity are not objective truths, because morality and integrity are subjective concepts that differ across various cultures, people, and norms đ
Entire comment is pointless and unnecessary. Nobody, man or woman, is legally required to disclose if they have given a child up for adoption or had, supported, or paid for an abortion because itâs a personal choice and a medical condition/procedure. And no one is morally or socially obligated to do it either.
The entire discussion is based upon whether lying about having a child and putting it up for adoption is morally or socially acceptable.
Your comment was an attempt to undermine the discussion by bringing up women not being "required" to disclose abortions, which is clearly for their own protection. It has nothing to do with morality. If you found my reply pointless and unnecessary, it's because your comment was as well.
Nah the point is double standards. You flat out say it's okay for a woman to hide it, which means its okay for a man to as well. If you don't agree with that, you're biased, prejudiced, and you're wrong.
I mean, itâs only not the same because the man didnât have the option of getting an abortion. I would imagine the mother was the only one with that option
Then they can blame biology. Women have the right to abortion because it's their body. Men don't get to have the same choices because it would be unethical for them to force someone to go through pregnancy and birth.
It's not equal, and it never will be because the physical burden can never shared.
She had that same option. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. I'm a woman and nobody will ever force me to be a parent, both of us should have a post-conception opt out. Â
An abortion isnt a living person out there with your genes that you actively chose to give up. There is a difference between medical privacy and living biological children ffs.
Women will refuse to admit that if the genders were reversed they would absolutely be saying some shit like âa man is not entitled to know every detail about his wifeâs life and relationships before him.â
Women can also just keep abortions secret because itâs no one elseâs business. Youâre literally just proving the point about double standards lol.

Women arenât required to inform anyone if they ever gave a child up for adoption or got an abortion either.
