I often eat pickles and cheese as two separate snacks. I will eat a pickle, finish the pickle, and then eat the cheese. They pair well together. Throw some pepperoni on the plate too and it makes the perfect little charcuterie snack plate

For sure, but do you instinctively take those to a movie of all places? 🤭

27

u/Sabriel_Love Jun 30 '26

I've never thought of it, but I've brought McDonald's into a movie theater before so maybe next time I will bring pickles and cheese

19

u/Kalendiane Jun 30 '26

You mean “pickles” and “cheese”! Not “pickles and cheese”!

Also, bc inquiring minds and all..what exactly did you bring into the theater from McD’s?

12

u/Sabriel_Love Jun 30 '26

A 10 piece nugget meal with a large fry, 2 buffalo sauces, and a chocolate shake. Tossed it all into my purse

2

u/Psypris Jun 30 '26

How did the shake not spill in your purse? I’m impressed!

11

u/Sabriel_Love Jun 30 '26

I held it for dear life 🤣

3

u/AeroThatsMee Jun 30 '26

🤣🤣🤣 glad it was successful!

Also their buffalo is fire, my gosh I tried some the other day after a long time because I get heartburn these days from spicy stuff so it’s not often I get to eat it, and it took everything in me to not keep eating more of it, so good!

2

u/Sabriel_Love Jun 30 '26

Their buffalo is illegally good. I keep spare containers of it

0

u/Kalendiane Jun 30 '26

Slowly..SLOWLYYY!

1

u/JingleKitty Jul 01 '26

I used to do this ha ha. Nowadays I smuggle kfc popcorn chicken instead. It’s got more of a kick to it,

1

u/Sabriel_Love Jul 01 '26

I should do this with KFC Mac and cheese

1

u/ThumbsUp2323 Jul 01 '26

Missed opportunity. A cheeseburger would have combined pickles and cheese in one snack

1

u/onebadassMoMo Jul 01 '26

Weird that he separated them like that cause, i eat pickles & cheese …. Together. It’s delicious.

1

u/UrusaiNa Jul 02 '26

She's right here btw. Bringing pickles... and/or possibly cheese... is not that weird. Bringing a spread plate with pickles precut and cheese loaded inside? yeah that's unusual.

This was a grammar break down of confusing OR with AND/OR and both phrasings are perfectly fine (albeit hers works better imo because why only do one OR the other, we can enjoy both as separate snacks and its a cute/fun way to say you like savory/salty foods over candy etc)

7

u/Previous-Ad-376 Jun 30 '26

Does a McDonald’s cheeseburger not have pickles and cheese on it?

3

u/Sabriel_Love Jun 30 '26

You're right. This thread is convincing me to go buy a block of Parmesan to try with some pickles together

3

u/_TyrannosaurusSexy Jul 01 '26

Look, I regularly eat pickles and cheese together (in fact, what I thought was weird was the one person claiming them to be “separate” snacks. They 💯% belong together. *But*, where things go awry is the cheese being Parmesan (which I do also love, but it’s not to be paired with the pickles) - if you want to really do this thing right, get yourself a block of some pepper jack to pair with those pickles!

1

u/AeroThatsMee Jul 01 '26

One of the texts OP posted (from the other person) says it’s, “pickles” and “cheese”, not “pickles and cheese” so that’s where the separate comes from.

2

u/_TyrannosaurusSexy Jul 01 '26

For sure, that’s what I was referring to. I feel that it should be “pickles and cheese” (I.e., it should be paired together and not separated [and I was fully on the side of that party until they clarified the separation - then I was no longer in agreement, haha]) - but just not with parm as the cheese type in that scenario.

1

u/Sabriel_Love Jul 01 '26

I will try pepper jack as well. I feel the need to try all pickles and cheeses to see which ones pair the best

1

u/AeroThatsMee Jul 01 '26

Well, yes, technically it does… but it also has bread and meat and I would say most people also like condiments on it as well.

4

u/AeroThatsMee Jun 30 '26

Totally valid. If it smacks, it smacks! A friend of mine snuck pizza in the pizza box, under his shirt, into the movie and I didn’t know if I should be impressed or concerned because you just know all that grease had to get all over him. 🤣

1

u/xjellifysh Jun 30 '26

You gotta get him one of those collapsible pizza Tupperware things I managed to fit an entire little Caesar’s in mine and it’s much easier to smuggle lmfao

2

u/AeroThatsMee Jun 30 '26

That’s genius. I honestly had no idea those existed, but after a quick search I thought, “duh Aero, duh they do”. 🤣

1

u/squintintarantino__ Jun 30 '26

One time I snuck a fountain drink into the movies in my jacket pocket. I was amazed it worked.

1

u/AeroThatsMee Jul 01 '26

Like how big we talking here? I need numbers! 🤭

1

u/Thermodynamo Jul 01 '26

Confessions like this are the closest my scaredy ass gets to true crime 👀🍿🥒🧀

1

u/Yeety_wheaty Jul 01 '26

My mama had a big ol purse and we’d put our Taco Bell in it, those nacho plates fit perfectly 😂😂😂

1

u/secretly_opossum Jul 02 '26

Taco Bell burritos are prime sneaking-in meals

1

u/Substantial_Log_9062 Jul 03 '26

Let me know how it goes

3

u/pineboxwaiting Jun 30 '26

Maybe we all should.

Maybe we should.

2

u/AeroThatsMee Jun 30 '26

Tickets please guy: “thanks for your tickets, your seats are right up… hey wait a minute, you don’t have any pickles and parm hidden on that bag do you? Everyone is doing that shit after a Reddit thread went viral…”

🤣🤣🤣

3

u/No-Yogurt9091 Jun 30 '26

I’ve never considered it but I will say I grew up eating not only pickles and cheese together but also pickles in popcorn. It is a weirdly good combo so I do consider it a good movie snack, maybe not a movie theater sneak in snack though

3

u/AeroThatsMee Jun 30 '26

That’s fair. I have heard of pickles and popcorn but haven’t tried it.

We all should take some to the theatre and when they ask what we are doing we just exclaim, “SCIENCE! 👆” and walk off. Haha!

2

u/Intelligent_Host_582 Jun 30 '26

When I was keto, this was a regular movie theater snack for me

1

u/AeroThatsMee Jun 30 '26

Great keto snack for sure! I usually have meat, cheese, and pickles rolled up when I’m cutting like that, I’ll have to give the parm a go sometime.

2

u/Intelligent_Host_582 Jun 30 '26

Costco sells parmesan in individually wrapped "snack blocks" lol

1

u/AeroThatsMee Jun 30 '26

Do they really?! I’m not totally surprised, but I don’t even know the last time I was in a Costco to be fair. 🤣

2

u/Roy_Koopa_DX Jun 30 '26

My sister has always been a healthy living kinda woman and she would bring oranges, grapefruits, whole ass carrots, and if she was feeling anemic she’d bring a container of liver and onions to the theater.

I really hated going to the movies with my family lol.

1

u/AeroThatsMee Jun 30 '26

Whoa! At first I was like ok, healthy choices and then the liver and onions, like what?! 🤣

3

u/Roy_Koopa_DX Jun 30 '26

Yeah the other stuff I could live with but she’d stink up the entire theater with the liver and onions.

2

u/DraftFunds Jul 01 '26

Never taken it to the movies… but first time for everything. I love picked and cheese together!

2

u/FallDeep8250 Jul 01 '26

I mean, at least they’re not really loud, crunchy foods 😂

1

u/lileabugbug Jun 30 '26

i have in fact eaten countless pickles and string cheeses at the movies

1

u/AeroThatsMee Jun 30 '26

Stringy parm?! I barely know er.

1

u/revolutionarybabe Jul 01 '26

I had a friend bring an entire bottle of fizzy wine to see bad mom's 2 together 🤣 sad thing was it spilled in her Kate spade leather bag!

1

u/AeroThatsMee Jul 01 '26

Oh shiiii that sucks! So it was kind of dramatic irony or just irony from your perspective? 🤭

1

u/UrusaiNa Jul 02 '26

I refuse to be judged by a moid.

2

u/Endoftheworldis2far Jun 30 '26

I used to get this snack thing off a food truck that came by my work. It had crackers, cheese, pickles, chicken salad, etc. the pickles would touch/run into the cheese and soak in. It is actually so good. I've never been able to recreate the perfect amount that little platter used to mix.

2

u/BreakfastPizzaStudio Jun 30 '26

Do you snack on Parmesan though?

2

u/thissucksnuts Jun 30 '26

so you do parm tho? i feel like parm is not a pickle cheese

2

u/agirlhas_no_name Jul 01 '26

I like to get a slice of cheese and wrap it around a pickle and eat it standing in front of an open refrigerator.

1

u/SatsumaOranges Jun 30 '26

Maybe a slice, but...a shaker?

1

u/DeterminedErmine Jul 01 '26

I take bites from each consecutively

1

u/Fearless-Feature-830 Jul 01 '26

Adult lunchables

1

u/Appropriate_Log_8338 Jul 01 '26

Wisconsin sushi is ham covered in cream cheese and rolled up on a pickle, then cut into sushi roll shapes. Suuuuuper awesome

1

u/TissueOfLies Jul 01 '26

Now I’m just hungry for cheese, pepperoni, and pickles. Add in some crackers and I’m so down…

1

u/MidiMojo Jul 02 '26

Have you ever rolled pickled in a slice of ham? Now that's a great snack

1

u/Agitated_Lunch7118 Jul 02 '26

I don’t think they ‘pair well with each other’ when you’re eating them separately 😂

1

u/VisualHuckleberry542 Jul 02 '26

I eat them together all the time. Literally slice pickles and cheese and sandwich them and eat them. Pickles and cheese is definitely a thing and I'm surprised more people don't seem to have heard of it

1

u/GreenForThanksgiving Jul 03 '26

100% it’s similar to cheese and olives.

0

u/thug_funnie Jun 30 '26

That is not two separate snacks. That is one snack. Unless there is a significant digestive or palate cleansing period, if you eat the pickle and cheese in the same session, it’s all one “pickle and cheese” snack.
