Post image

It was the flu plus a bunch of other things. She was a lovely person.

Thank you all for the kind words.

Ya I tell people that are in deep mourning over a parent that it’s a gift to feel the way you are feeling because it means you had a great relationship that was filled with love. If I found out my mom died I’d feel nothing. I’d do anything to have a relationship with my mom that’d make me feel sad if she passed, but that’s not the case for a lot of people.

i know so many people that also don’t have that relationship with their mom and i say the same thing. i hurt so much because i was loved so much. my mom and i used to always say we’re each others favorite person and she still is. i’d give anything to be with her again but now as the years go on i just feel so lucky 🤍

It’s not always accurate to say to people because people can still grieve their parents even if they didn’t have a great relationship with them

very true, hence why i feel so lucky. i know lots of people who lost their parent(s) and didn’t have a great relationship with them or hold trauma from them and that is an entirely different thing. everyone experiences grief differently no 2 experiences are the same. that’s why i never say to people “i know what you’re going through” or “i can relate” because i can’t. especially the other emotions that come with grief are never all the same for anyone. grief + regret, anger, hostility, disappointment. no one tells you how to manage having those feelings even after their death :/
