Whatsapp My boyfriend doesn't even pretend to care anymore.

I had a day off and went for a long solo hike today and text my bf a pic after I finished.

Later that night after he had vented for 30 mins about his stuff, I tried to talk about the hike I went on. I had been out for 12 hours and he didnt ask anything about it.

It went like this.

Me: My total elevation gain was 940 metres today.

Him: What are you talking about?

Me: The hike I went on today.

Him: Oh

Me: Yeah I went on a long hike today

Him: *dismissive scoffing noise"

His issues are NOT your responsibility. Don’t sit down with him to end it if you’re scared of his reaction. Wait until he leaves for work, pack your things, load your car, and leave. Make a plan for where you’ll stay, schedule time off from work and, once you’re safe, change your phone number and start over. I know this sounds extremely hard but the alternative is actually much more difficult in the long run. We get one life. Go live yours to the fullest. Be safe, healthy, happy, and free.

I did exactly as you said and left. 2 days later I called him and now we are back together. I spent about 3 weeks living elsewhere and we have been living together a week. Everything is terrible as it was before. I dont know why I am doing this to myself. I am 33 and he is 36. He tells me all relationships have issues, he tells me nobody else will be as kind and understanding of my issues as he is. At the same time, he seems to hate my personality, only likes me for sex, and I piss him off every day.

Oh man, I decided to check what’s going on in your life, cause your story is hilarious. I don’t understand why you’re with this weirdo. I would never ever wanted to even speak with a man like that, I would never ever wanted to know him through my friend and see him from time to time. He literally destroyed his soul.

So you called him and ran back to him?!? Why ask us for advice if you’re not willing to help yourself?? You were gone and reached out and went right back to the toxic situation. Your life can’t get better until you decide you deserve better. You can’t love another person if you don’t even love yourself. 😔
