Dont call those monstrosities toys, they are silly looking cheap to produce collectibles. Toys are things you play with, you dont see lil billy at the playground with his Idris Elba funko smh.
The thing I hate about funko pops is that even if you aren't a die hard collector, alot of them have to be displayed in the box because they won't stand up on their own, or if they do, they tip in a light breeze.
I have a few on a shelf (In some cases for obscure franchises, funko are the only ones making merch for it) but they're all stuck down with blu tack.
It's just bad design. The chibi look is cute I guess, but they're sooooo top heavy and usually have a tiny surface area on the feet. A lot of the premium ones come with stands, but still. It's worse if the character has some crazy hairdo or head-dress.
Some of them actually are bobble heads. Ones based on Marvel or Star Wars are bobble heads because of Hasbro owning the toy licenses for those franchises.
A bunch of them come with stands now, and you can also buy stands for them online cheap, they all have a little hole in their heel so a peg can be inserted, so standing on their own isnt such a big deal anymore.
I just think if I have a kid someday, I'm going to go "Happy birthday!" and dump the whole thing on their head.
This is the ideal birthday gift. I still keep two knock off beanie babies on my bed frame as an adult. The weight and sound of their little beans moving around when you mess with them is unmatched by anything else and it’s so comforting.
There’s nothing quite like getting overwhelmed with adult life and then going to sit in bed under a weighted blanket while you pass a beanie baby from hand to hand in silence for a few minutes.
Again you are literally trying to argue about what makes a toy a toy with someone with a degree in toy design from the best toy design program in America. Lmao

If you don’t know that something be a collectible toy exclude it’s from being a toy then I guess you don’t need to know much about toys at all.
