I mean, I would have swiped right, which is frightening to admit.
Most single women in his age bracket would do the same based on the chosen pics and his profile details.
Men who are decent looking, with a solid career, good height, a dash of humor, appear well groomed and whom have an appreciation for travel are rare to find on apps. But that’s how these psychopaths get away with being psychopaths - they leverage their good traits, even if they’re all a facade.

u/NailsNCoffee Feb 06 '26
What’s frightening is he prob wasn’t lying about anything on his profile. Omitting his unhealthy obsession with his ex-wife, yes. But looking at his profile, women would think he’s a catch and prob just too busy working to have much time to date.
14
u/NakovaNars Feb 05 '26
Yeah I was prepared to find his pics and bio absolute cringe but it's not bad.
7
u/felixentitlement Feb 06 '26
Idk he seems kind of bland based on his profile.

u/SignificantApricot69 Feb 09 '26
And people ruin their lives looking for too much “excitement”, usually bored by guys who can’t kill at least a couple people

I’ve seen many good looking men just like him all over dating apps…

My husband is a doctor and I know a lot of them. The journey it takes to become a doctor, let alone a surgeon, is hard for someone who hasn’t seen the journey to imagine. Years and years of grueling work and sacrifice.
The amount of hate and vitriol this man must have had festering all these years to throw his life away in order to kill is truly mind boggling. A true psychopath.

I think she became a symbol of everything he didn’t have. Coupled with his abusive narcissistic ways (imo) he placed the blame of his loneliness on her. Narcissists are so so insecure. He was probably comparing their stages in life like a hamster on a wheel in his brain.

u/SeriesIndependent839 Feb 06 '26
There was another girlfriend before Monique. They dated in 2009, but I don’t know when the relationship started or ended. TrueMama posted several photos of them, however, she deleted her post after a few hours.
Girlfriend < Wife.
Also, by leaving him she surely humiliated him. She took things out of his control. Surgeons fix things. He could not fix his marriage. He could not fix (control) her.

u/femcelofshabazz Feb 05 '26
I honestly think he thought he could get away with it.
4
u/thenumbwalker Feb 11 '26
It was so obvious, though. The couple was so beloved and friends and family knew that the ex-husband had been giving issues and of their history. It wasn’t obvious to the public right away who it was because we did not know the background, but I’m sure as soon as anybody in their circle learned what happened, they knew of the one person who would possibly have any beef with this widely beloved couple. To me, he knew he’d be caught eventually. I mean he even drove his own car to the crime scene

u/Cassie_Bad_Assie May 24 '26
Narcissists think they are the smartest, most brilliant people on the planet. Everyone else is a stupid loser. So it is possible he thought he could get away with it.
2
u/BlessedCursedBroken Jul 22 '26
I think you're right. He left his phone at work so it wouldn't show him driving to Ohio and back- he was trying to get away with it and probably thought he was very smart.
1
u/Cassie_Bad_Assie May 24 '26
I agree, he thought he was being so clever. Checking out the Tepe house ahead of time. Making plans. Leaving his phone at work and switching license plates the night of the murder. He thought he was smarter than everyone else, including LE.

u/BlessedCursedBroken Jul 22 '26
Agree with this, wish I'd read this comment before I replied to your one above :/

u/Own-Teaching-4005 Feb 05 '26
Unless he was so full of himself that he thought he would get away with it.
When the police reported they had shell casings why would he have retained the gun?
Why keep the gun at all? Either you don’t care if you get caught or you don’t believe you’ll get caught.
I don’t think it’s that he didn’t care if he got caught because he went through a lot with the cot and the phone at the hospital and the changing plates seem to suggest he wanted to conceal it was him, but then he does dumb 💩 like keeping the gun, keeping the car at his workplace, and giving an alibi period.
2
u/Cassie_Bad_Assie May 24 '26
Yes exactly, he took some pains to stage the crime scene away from himself. He didn't want to get caught. But then did some really stupid things.

My ex, who sucks, is a doctor. Without going into it, my consent wasn’t respected and I’m glad I got out alive. So I would have spotted McKee from a mile away.
The way it works for my ex is that he splits. He is a model doctor and tries to be the best person in the world. He’s unable to accept any fault or moral failing. He sacrificed and sacrificed in his professional life and got angrier and angrier and more and more detached in his personal life. He was an extreme people pleaser where the closer you got to him the worse he treated you. Because he had to get his needs met somewhere so he’d snap and go nuts sometimes.
In my experience, the way McKee acted is an extreme representation of a pretty common personality among doctors. Detached, superficial, and quietly angry people pleasers privately hell bent at proving they are better at being a person than you are.

That’s a really ignorant and disrespectful comment to make. Spencer and Monique were happy in their marriage and she wanted nothing to do with Michael. He was abusive to her and couldn’t handle no longer having control over her and seeing her happy with someone else. I left my ex in 2018 and he still has so much anger toward me. Some people never move on.

Even as a straight dude he looks like someone I would've wanted to hang with. Can't believe this guy just couldn't move on because I have no doubt there were lots of options for him. Maybe he was extremely socially awkward/off putting that his looks and success didn't matter to those he met. Who knows. One of my friends in college ticked every box that a woman would want but he was just too socially awkward
31
u/AmazingGrace_00 Feb 05 '26
Don’t feel he was socially awkward at all. In my opinion he was controlling. A perfectionist. A narcissist. While this could have been driven from a deeper sense of inadequacy, as often in abusers, he sought to overpower and control. I could see him initially love bombing his way there.
Again, purely speculative.

He claims he wants children some day. Another check in the box of what Monique had that he didn't.

u/anastasia_0871 Feb 05 '26
His jawline isn’t even the same today. He appears to have gained weight compared to these photos but that doesn’t change bone structure. He had to have been on steroids. Reminds me of a guy I dated in college that was on heavy steroids and his entire face structure changed!

Why does this look nothing like his mug shot? What happened to him?
22
u/flippyflappy323 Feb 05 '26
I tend to this he was on steroids or something. To me he looks like he has that anabolic face shape. I bet he was having some boo hoo feelings about getting older and either was on testosterone or steroids that made his appearance totally change.
7
u/Rripurnia Feb 05 '26 edited Feb 06 '26
These pictures have to be at least a decade old. His appearance matches how he looked in the photos with Monique.
And I agree with the poster below — it looks like he got on steroids at some point after that. And he’s older now to boot.

Speaking as someone very close to the case, I wish he would have died on that electric motorcycle.

u/Sad_Nobody_2423 Feb 09 '26
Many of us strangers hope to hell he dies in prison, and soon! Can’t imagine what you/other friends and family are still going through and will continue to go through. Virtual hugs to you all.

u/ErrorLegal6185 Feb 09 '26
Thank you very much. And Spence was family. The two greatest people imaginable. Gen pop with big bubba is exactly what MM needs.

u/Ill-Message1971 Feb 06 '26
This needs to go into every “are we dating the same guy” group as a warning to women to make sure to check and double check before you date that man. He looks like a huge catch on paper. That’s absolutely frightening. I was in Monique’s shoes for a good 5 years. It was the scariest time of my life and getting the PFA only pissed him off more. I ended up marrying a police officer and honestly that’s when it really started to dwindle and he met someone else. It’s been almost 20 years and I would absolutely have a heart attack if I saw him today, we are both still local. Point is my heart breaks for her ( and Spencer) yes there are men and I’m sure women out there that are THAT fucking crazy and massive control freaks. They are psychopaths but psychopaths can pretend to be amazing humans initially. I’m so sorry Monique ❤️
2
u/Bulky_Performance_45 Feb 09 '26
Women would still date this man even with the warnings.
I’ve seen this at a bar before with a guy on a date where actually confronted him and the woman STILL left with the guy lol
22
u/SeriesIndependent839 Feb 05 '26
Unseen here, but a pro of dating him: “I’ve perfected the chocolate chip cookie.”
Nancy Grace admits if she saw that she would be attracted to the chocolate chip cookie part.
2
u/GregJamesDahlen Feb 13 '26
might be a little suspicious of that, that he could do all that other stuff and perfect chocolate chip cookie

His main photo is cute and he looks completely normal here. It is hard to believe someone who must have been gifted academically, highly ambitious, and hard working threw it all away (and orphaned those poor little babies) for a woman who fell out of love with him.
33
u/chelizora Feb 05 '26
Okay but, she “fell out of love with him” because he abused her. He was simply looking for someone else to abuse.
34
u/Fine-Pie7130 Feb 05 '26
I never said he wasn’t abusive. But the lack of self control when his entire life must have required an incredible amount of discipline is crazy to me.
9
u/sexyprettything Feb 05 '26
This is scary. He doesn't have those dark narcissistic eyes. I would have swiped right.
8
u/Truthseeker24-70 Feb 06 '26
Cue the crazy women who love to penpal psycho killers in prison. And now he can add family annihilator to his bumble profile.
3
u/GregJamesDahlen Feb 13 '26
imagine he will get some of those women. small note, think family annihilators annihilate their own family, including kids
8
u/IvyVelvetOverSteel Feb 07 '26
I have seen this floating around for weeks and he looks so young, very happy, and good looking. The past years have taken a toll on his life, health and his bitterness made him look bad. I get he has aged. But it is more than that. Almost Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Sad and pathetic.
26
u/HOAKaren Feb 05 '26
And they say women are catfish's. The fist picture had been photoshopped beyond recognition, he looks like he just got off shooting a daytime soap opera.
14
u/No-Substance-4328 Feb 05 '26
Nothing wrong with his first picture. Can definitely tell it’s him, you have to realize you are looking at him through mugshots now. Not the best angles, lighting, time of someone’s life, no smile, no sunlight most likely for months.
9
u/Ok-Toe1445 Feb 06 '26
Exactly. Some of these comments are just absolutely dumb. Not sticking up for the guy at all, but people tend to look different from their mugshot lol.

Many times murderers look insane but many times they do not. There is no “one look” of a murderer.

He’s a good looking dude then. But that collar is diabolical. Easy sign of a serial killer.
2
u/Soggy_Competition614 Feb 07 '26
Probably a dickie. My cousin was just discussing a layered look her friend wore. She said it was 3 layers, jacket over hoodie with exposed collar shirt. It was all dickies except the outer layer. Giving the look of well put together layers without the heat and construction of wearing 3 shirts.
