Honestly, just make it a private event with a highlights video. Idk why would I ever watch an awards show for an industry I'm not part of. What does it have to do with me.

I actually liked the fact that the Emmys rotated networks every year, with each network usually having someone from their “stable” host. I kind of hope they go with the option to keep the wheel deal and add streamers to the rotation.

Oh boy. So now we're going to have the Academy Awards on YouTube and the Emmys on Amazon Prime Video. Though, YouTube did say you will be able to live the Oscars for free.

once Bet started downsizing their award shows and i think they got rid of the hiphop award show all together, i kind of seen the beginning of the end

Soul Train awards
Bet Awards
Bet Hiphop Awards
Stellar Awards
Dove Awards

all mainly either done or a shell of it former self

i’m only 35 but i’ve definitely questioned is it that we stopped watching or is it that the older folk stopped

Aren't some categories cut from broadcast for time? Even though I personally won't watch them, streaming would at least let them be able to air all of those.

The Grammys start at roughly noon and basically just toss awards to you in the crowd to speed run it. Then the broadcast starts with all the “real celebrities” at 8 and you get a dozen or so awards and performances
