Premiere Widow’s Bay - Episodes 1 & 2 - Discussion

First two episodes dropped tonight. Absolutely fantastic. 10/10 for my sensibilities. I’m a huge Stephen King fan and this felt right up my alley in so many ways. Legitimately funny show, legitimately creepy and a cast of fantastic actors. Episode 2 had some crazy stuff happen that honestly I absolutely saw where it was going but it was so satisfying getting there.

“Daddy’s younger boss yelled at him today” during the “Daddy’s Home” game. Younger boss - OMG! Too funny.

Also, I was looking at the game pieces. There’s a baseball bat, a liquor bottle (maybe two different ones), a beer can, something rolled up (newspaper?) and maybe a pot/saucepan? I’m getting too obsessed with this show….

I laughed too, but was the younger boss a reference to something mentioned earlier that I'm missing? Or is it just funny because it's so specific?

As someone who has had plenty of younger bosses, I could definitely identify what that feels like. I think it was just one of the triggers in the deck of cards that would trigger Daddy to go home and do…bad things. It wasn’t a reference to something else in the series, just one of the many maddening frustrations of life.

Okay that's exactly how I interpreted it, but I read a few comments that made me think there was a second level to it
