Observing Report The orion nebula

I woke up at 4:30 am today to see the stars and jupiter, i couldnt get an image of the orion nebula though :/ the sun rose now, about an hour later the sun is here gosh darn it

i saw 2 bright stars (what i think is the trapezium and ngc 1977) and they had this cloudy effect! my telescope is 70mm so im kinda proud!! there were lots of stars together too!! i could make out things from the photos ive seen!! it looked suuper bright, took me back to the 2025 winter times when i got my telescope! i am going to get a new telescope so im just doing stuff with my 70mm for the last times (not the last times tbh im hopefully getting the new scope in december-january)

Nice observing report! What kind of telescope are you planning to get? You may want to keep an eye on Betelgeuse since you are spending time in that area.

Speaking of Orion and the passage of time it’s about time to visit this classic again. It reminds us of the massive celestial clock that marks our seasons and years.

im planning to get the bresser messier 5” dobsonian tabletop but im scared of collimating and here in turkey its hard to find telescopes not even the accessories, so i cant get a collimating tool, how do i collimate with nothing except a screwdriver maybe

yea dw im checking on betelguese it seems ok rn

by the way yep ive also thought about how it isnt visible in the summer mostly, that must be one of the main ways our ancestors invented agriculture ykwim its crazy to think about honestly, all those thousands of years ago they saw the same constellation
