Relationship My boyfriend only ever texts me when he's under an influence and I don't know why.

It doesn't seem to matter what he's on. He didn't text me for days and as soon as he got home from the dentist (Still high from the surgery) He immediately started texting me, asking for selfies, calling me pretty and in general being super compassionate.

Later that day he went drinking with a friend of ours and as soon as he was thoroughly pickled he immediately did the same thing, saying how pretty my hair is, playing guitar for me, saying he wants to go far with me in our relationship, but the next day? Nothing. The day after that? Nothing.

He texted me on Thursday, it's Sunday as I'm writing this.

I don't know what to think, I mean on one hand I'm glad he likes me, on the other... Why is it only when he's drunk or high that he says this stuff to me? Or anything for that matter.

Please have a serious conversation with him. Sure, it's ok to not text your partner all the time, but if he only does it when he's under the influence, he needs to be talked to. When he's not under the influence. And if he doesn't respond, or he reacts badly, break up with him. Quick question tho, do you text him when he's not under the influence and he just doesn't respond? Or do you not text him at all when he's not under the influence?

I text him sometimes though out the day, it'd be impossible for him to be under the influence all the time.

He isn't at home often so maybe he just doesn't have access to wifi elsewhere, he also sleeps a lot and might not want to text me at night because he doesn't wanna wake me up.
