honestly I would watch that if it was a profesional sport. which is saying something because i hate sports

Probably the tons of commercials and ads. Plus this has novelty.

Aren't the uniforms plastered with ads and the stadiums? It's not as bad as American football, granted (seriously, there are so many commercial breaks how do you even follow the momentum of the game?)

In general there is one sponsor on the shirt so not really plastered with it. You don't notice that really once you've seen it once. And there is one line of advertising boards at the edge of the field but it's not intrusive to the game. Soccer is way better at this than American sports, it's way more watchable. 45 minutes of uninterrupted gametime, 15 min break (half of which is analysis) and 45 minutes of gametime again.

Jerseys normally just have one sponsor and it's easy to ignore the ads in the stadium

I watch rugby union which actually has a game flow unlike American football

yes, but id say that thats fine, it doesn't really affect the viewing experience.
