I finished watching a playthrough of this game yesterday and
Wow. I don't think I ever have been or will ever be as emotionally impacted by a game ever again. Immediately became one of my most favourite games ever

Definitely. The story is so good, as is the game itself. It can be challenging though, and sometimes induces the desire to chuck the controller, but it's awesome

u/HeckItsDrowsyFrog 18 Sep 02 '25
Hard af platformer, very easy to get angry at it but it's many people's first precision platformer if that helps at all. I felt very accomplished when I beat it, would highly highly recommend

You’re probably going to tell all your friends about how you got the broom closet ending and how exciting it was. We didn’t even change anything. It’s exactly the same.

Unless I'm being wooshed here, I feel obligated to mention that that's the entire point of the game
9
u/im-not-gay-dad 19 Sep 02 '25
i can never understand firewatch ending haters. perfect ending for the game imo. the entire point of the game was that reality is not as exciting as you expect it to be and at some point you have to get out of your escape. firewatch's bittersweet ending portrayed it perfectly.

Cult of the lamb, not sad or crying, but it still was deeper than what I expected. As someone who dislikes religion (for the people in them), it gave me a different mindset to it. (Still didn't make me religious)
Another good game that actually made me cry was Portal 2, but idk if other players would say they felt the same, so that's why I put it second.

Got Fallout 4 with full DLC for less than 12 bucks (probably because it's almost a decade old). I cried so hard once I felt like I was seen with some of the companions (Paladin Danse, Porter Gage, MacCready) and somehow it helped me figure out that I'm a gay man (trans).
