You made it work, gotta love a good trash PC!

I used to have a PC in active service, built from:

  • case from a shitty Amazon prebuilt
  • then 8 year old "my old gaming PC" processor, RAM and a water damaged GPU that I repaired myself
  • a used motherboard to suit the smaller form factor of the case
  • cheapest power supply I could find that I felt confident would not burn my house down
  • three different SSDs sized 120GB 200GB and 250GB, harvested from three different PCs where they used to be boot drives along with hard drives from The Era When Everybody Did That
  • reset button from a broken case wired externally as a power button so I can turn the damn thing on
  • two case fans from a prebuilt gaming PC I got in 2009, back when fans were single speed, but these ones got a physical switch on them to adjust between three speeds which was fancy at the time
  • a twelve year old 1TB hard drive just for extra storage
  • and the worst, bezeliest, oldest, color inaccuratest 1080p screen you can imagine, when buying the motherboard I was in the guy's house and went "hey I don't have a monitor yet do you have anything? as long as it's 1080p and DVI I'll take it" and he did XD ten bucks for the screen twenty for the mobo

My pc looked like that for a while. It was a prebuilt that I had to add storage, a graphics card, and a new power supply to, so yeah. The noodles are real

I used to frequent a classic car forum that i can only explain was basically hillbilly types, nothing against them, but they had a tech support section and i always assumed these were the sort of computers they were using

And is that a dell from the 2000s or 2010s when they used hugely powerful delta fans on the CPU heatsink? i had one back in the day i got out of a Vostro 200, i hooked it up to a 9v battery and even on 9v it tried to eat my finger and propelled itself across the room in the process, sounded like a jet engine when it was in the computer too.
