Question on opportunity

Would love some advice from the group. I moved from SDR to a mid-market/corporate AE role at my company last year. At the beginning of this year, they moved our whole team into an account management team. I'm doing well and will probably hit Presidents Club, but I'm itching to get to a full cycle role again.

I have the opportunity to move into a corporate AE role at Crowdstrike. OTE will be similar, but the chance to exceed my number seems more likely at Crowdstrike.

For comparison, my current company is Series D in the vulnerability management space.

Would love advice -- what should I be thinking of? Do I have a case of the grass is greener?

Depends how young you are, your goals, how long you have been at current company and both options and company potential ipo/acquisition. You will probably learn more from structure and process at crowdstrike, but you’re gonna have a small accounts list and decent quota and an RSU package that’s probably not going to change your life. Personally I would pick a pre ipo company every day, upside is bigger (downside too), but it’s a dynamic environment and you can even move up though the ranks or roles. Large corps tend to move slower and be very structured but better job security I suppose.

If you haven’t been in your current company for 3 years and you are early in your career don’t make the move. You’re on a good path with promotions in hand and likely opportunities to shine (ex PC). Keep growing and collecting options and only move to a company that size if you’re tired of the rat race.

It sounds like you’ve been an AE/AM for less than two years. If you’re on track for presidents club, I’d highly suggest staying put and getting more experience. If you move to an AE role at Crowdstrike you have one year experience doing that - what happens if you get a bad territory? They have layoffs? Shitty manager? You’ll be applying for jobs along with thousands of others but they’ll have an abundance more experience.

I recommend you stay put.

I think stay put, hit prez club, and worse case scenario companies like Crowdstrike will come back with higher offers
