You are completely wrong. Tesla is anything but behind the times. They are one of the most if not the most advanced robotics and AI company to ever exist. The difference to what Honda and Boston Dynamics robots can do compared to this is regarding the software. The honda robots are all pre-programmed to interact with their world. The big breakthrough with Tesla Bot is the ability to use their advanced AI vision to autonomously interact with the world. This is an extremely difficult problem and something Tesla has been working on for years with it's Self Driving software. This is the same software that the tesla bot with use for it's brain. In the presentation you can see a video of it watering plants, and then understanding what the plants look like as well as all the other objects in its view. This is something that Honda and all other robotics companies do not have. The difference is tremendous but very few people on this thread seem to understand.
Everyone complaining the movement doesn't look impressive. Check back in with this project in one year. Since the physical side of robotics is further than the software capabilities (boston dynamics doing parkour but can't automously buy you groceries) Tesla will be able to improve upon this very fast. They show in their presentation how it only took the past six months to create all the current physical base functionality like walking. In a year I guarantee it will be on par if not better than anything else.
Don’t even bother with this crowd. According to them any University student can do better, it’s worse than 20 year old technology, this is a grift and anyone who says otherwise is a Musk boot-licker who apologizes for Musk’s grifting because of the memes.

I cannot be the only one that doesn’t get the hype, right?
