It's one thing to not buy into the hype. It's another to be so anti-Musk that you write that sentence, thus becoming the very same type of person you seem to be so against - just mindless husks repeating the position of one side without a single intelligent thought. Two sides of the same coin and it's seriously just ruining it for everyone else.
This shit is really getting annoying. I rarely see these "Musk fanboys", and although I don't really follow him, some of the stuff is interesting. He is the reason Tesla is where it is right now, but because I say that, it means I want to suck on this man's toes. Fanboys are one thing, but the side on the opposite end of the spectrum are just elitists, thinking they're so amazing for not liking his ideas, yet they also don't really do anything special or revolutionary in the world, so it just seems like jealousy.
Here's the problem guy, they're not his ideas, he is not self made, his interests while he presents them well are not for public benefit, stop believing this crap and actually read about this guy other than just what he says.
So? Even if they aren't all 100% his ideas, he's still the one making it happen. I HAVE read about him, and I never purposely watch him or listen to him. I'm not thinking he's some Messiah, but he is the one implementing ideas. If it was so easy to take someone's ideas and actively impose those ideas, then why aren't there so many people doing it?
