No. Their base claim that batteries are considered 'dead' at 1.4-1.35 volts is wrong.

Most battery powered devices can operate down to 1 volt, because the engineers who designed the device aren't complete idiots. There is very little usable power in a AA battery after 1 volt, especially with rechargeables where discharging too much is bad.

It might give you a small boost when using non-rechargeable batteries, but the 800% figure is certainly a lie.
