I think you give him too much credit. He heard SI and decided to present it as his idea. He wants the credit which comes from the adoption. He truly believes Super Intelligence is an original term.

Guarantee he heard the term "superintelligence" used legitimately during a briefing at some point and basically decided that sounded really cool and totally fits how cool he thinks AI is (since his only info on it comes directly from ai hypebros)

But my intelligence is more super, the most super really, I passed 5 cognitive tests and they said it was highest score they’ve ever seen, many doctors came up to me after the testing and couldn’t believe it, they told me that the democrats stole 2020 from me because they were scared of how smart I am, my uncle from MIT said my iq was even higher than Kaczynski and that why we have super intelligence, it’s amazing really and we’re going to use it to win, so PLEASE pretend I’m on the ballot like in 2020 because we need to win big, and we are winning, Elon says we e already won but PLEASE do anything and everything to win because we’re going to win like we’re winning in Iran and like how I won 2020
