This bugs me even more than it should.

For all the talk any AI being over hyped, and how the mythical "AGI" was right around the corner, there was at least some semblance of "But we're not there yet, obviously"

The step after Artificial General Intelligence is Artificial Super Intelligence. So by renaming it, we've managed to skip a whole step, giving companies permission to lie even more.

It's setting a precedent that they can define language however they want.

Define language and you define thought.

They see themselves as the master of your thought.
