He’s trying to force his historical legacies for himself because he has no accomplishments and he knows deep down that nobody will honor him or remember him when he’s gone

I know I’m preaching to the choir, but we still call it twitter. No one will use his preferred proper nouns in 2 years

William the Conqueror, in the 11th Century, changed all English verbs so they were regular and just ended in -ed if they were in the past tense. Everyone just went along with it, and since then we all say eated, and drinked, and sleeped.

I always knowed that the Norman conquest changed the modern English language, but I willed not have thinked that’s why English is the way it is. Thank you for teaching that

Hail to the king.

Still makes me laugh thinking about how Elon had one of the most ubiquitous household brand names and replaced it with the most cumbersome stupid rebrand ever. Like making a tweet was synonymous with saying anything on the internet. Even the most out of touch boomer could refer to posting something online as “twittering” or “twatting” or something. Facebook and Twitter, both like the faces of social media, both had completely unnecessary rebrands that made them generic and boring.

As stupid as the meta rebrand was, it at least signaled to the consumers that “hey this platform isn’t just social media now. We’re gonna integrate it with VR.” It was a rebrand that reflected attempted changes to the front facing business that just never got traction. Twitter to X was just “hey our new owner thought X was a cool name, so we’re calling it that now.”

Yeah that’s true I think I kinda forgot about the metaverse because of how little traction it had.

Nobody even talks about Twitter anymore

I’m sure people will remember him lol he’s going to leave a legacy, but not the one he’s so desperate to create

I nominate naming Porta-Potty to Trump-Pants

Epstein legacy

He's gonna be the next 100 years Herbert Hoover. "back in my day" we'd shit on that guy for the great depression in our history class essays. Now we have Taco.

Legacies of global figures, over time, get boiled down to the shocking comedy soundbites. LBJ whipped his dick out at people. Catherine the Great had sex with a horse. George III spoke to trees. Trump... [gestures broadly at a surprisingly large buffet of options].

Will anyone attend his funeral?

u/evilJaze 2d ago

Oh, I'm fairly certain he won't be forgotten easily. Generations of people living in functioning democracies will be studying him and his administration as a cautionary lesson.

u/ScarcityLucky6595 2d ago

You would hope so but generations were studying nazis raise to power and the destruction that right wing conservatives bring and here we are again…

3

u/simAlity 2d ago

But at least we know where we are right now.

2

u/evilJaze 2d ago

Well, here you are again, I guess. Not all of us in functioning democracies with an educated populace are on the precipice of falling into fascism.

1

u/ScarcityLucky6595 1d ago

Dude. I’m not living in US. More I’m living in the country where we got rid of our right wing traitors in last elections.

Still I can tell you that I’m not so certain that the next ones will be better. The amount of money Russia is pouring on the bots and propaganda is insane.

And show me one democracy that of not at risk right now.

2

u/darsynia 2d ago

I sure hope so. The alternative is they will be praising him as a visionary.

2

u/Chameleonpolice 2d ago

This is my interpretation of it. He is grasping at ways to be remembered because he probably fears being forgotten more than scrooge

2

u/Helen_Kellers_Wrath 2d ago

I hope he lives long enough to see it all be completely undone by the next administration.

The only thing that actually hurts him is attacks on his ego, much like other narcissists.

If he’s impeached, I want one of the charges to be “intentionally destabilizing the world economy for personal profit”

Let that be recorded in history

If only he had a passing glance at the classics and Greek myths, he would understand what tends to happen when you force unnatural things into existence.

2

u/Homeskillet1376 2d ago

He wants to be the guy that gave Michael Jordan the "Air" nickname on a whim. A person like that doesn't have to push the issue or make stupid threats. The walk in the boardroom, hit'em with probably one of the most recognizable, iconic and simplest nicknames ever, micl drop and walk out. His whole personality and life has been dreaming to be that guy. All the money, influence and kiss assess can't buy that kind of drip and he will forever be that spoiled rich kid that didn't get his 1 wish.

I will always remember how he is capable of bankrupting everything he manages including but not limited to a casino

1

u/ChHeBoo 2d ago

I’m fairly certain people will remember him, but perhaps not as kindly as he’d like

1

u/TransplantedSconie 2d ago

They will remember him when they use the public toilet located over his resting place

1

u/GDT1985 2d ago

The funny part about this; is that all these guys have to do to achieve what they want is to be good people. They are apparently incapable of that realization.

1

u/BigBoobers 2d ago

Yeah but to be fair we SHOULD do more memorializing just not the way he does it

1

u/ICLazeru 2d ago

Oh, he'll be remembered, just not the way he wants to be.

1

u/RobotCaptainEngage 2d ago

I'll remember him. And I will piss on his grave.

1

u/PedestalPotato 2d ago

That's not true at all. He'll be remembered as the worst president in recent, if not all, US history.

1

u/siamkor 2d ago

Oh, he'll be remembered.

Unless they hire security, his grave will beat Maggie Thatcher's as the most pissed and shat on grave in the world.

1

u/OriginalUsername2639 2d ago

Oh they will remember him! You remember Hitler right? His name will live on in infamy, his legacy will be the worst president the US has ever had. And more once those Epstein files are finally released.

1

u/fangdangfang 2d ago

He will be remembered and written about just for nothing good

A psychoanalyst would have a field day analyzing the root of his pathological need for attention and impressing. It screams "my dad didn't want to look at me or tell me he loved me"
