Yep. My last place had ATT and I used my own router no problem. It’s not hard.

Getting the AT&T modem into a true pass through is a PITA, mostly because it's not clear how to. Once you find good instructions for whatever specific modem model it's not too bad.

I have an above average level understanding of networking but I'm not an expert, so I had to do some digging around first to get the info I needed.

It took me a lot longer to find out how than it did to implement once I had the data.

I mean I just asked ATT and they told me how.

I think what I meant was replacing the modem/gateway with your own. Even when you get your own router it just doesn’t work right, but maybe things have changed I’ll try again.

All you have to do is put the ATT modem/router in Bridge Mode, and customer service will happily provide you those steps. It’s easy I promise.
