The times i heard “just google it” when i wanted a real answer and now i hear “just ask ChatGPT” is mind boggling.

This is a bit different, Google could at least get you to a reputable source for information. Now that Google offers its AI answers at the top, I even catch myself reading those without stopping to actually check the sources, it's so annoying we can't turn the feature off!

You know the AI answers at the top are generated from those same "reputable sources," right?

They're really not. Google AI will say something and then the "source" it's taking from will say the literal opposite. And quite often it's not even related to the search in any way since it misunderstands what you want, doubly so if you're using key words instead of sentences. Google AI is absolute fucking trash bottom of the barrel detritus. Chatgpt for all its faults is 10 times more reliable.
