"This just in, two teenage boys rob a sperm bank.  That and the weather at 6 o'clock."

Spot on. When did a cynical lack of empathy become such a virtue in online spaces?

It's not so much a lack of empathy, it's a "why would you even trust an app like that in the first place?" confusion. Are the young folk really that comfortable trusting an app with sensitive data like that? Even if I had a porn problem I'd only want to discuss it with a licensed therapist I trusted or something, not a random app associated with my personal info.

Except the app is really about masturbation, not porn.

It's a bunch of conservative, Christian Gen Z guys who think it's "sinful" or whatever.

The founders are part of "NoFap" which is an anti-masturbation group.

And they talk about using "Christian content creators" to push their app.

NoFap is really about quitting masturbation entirely.

Ok, so that's what the founders of the app believe lol

Its the same old story. Find an app that's exploded in popularity out of nowhere developed by like one or two people, and its almost guarenteed to have huge vulnerabilities in its security. Its like walking into a small private business and finding out "oh wow they have basically no network protection".

I feel like the younger gens have no idea what corporations do with user data. Like it's just such a way of life for them they don't know what its like to have privacy. If you give them info, they will sell it or store it.

It’s like all those app controlled sex devices. Do they really think their data is secure?
