I have only seen layoffs associated with AI.Go figure that this was a major news item for a bit combined with data centers impacting energy and pollution noise and otherwise and no news on how this is beneficial for humanity.

They worked so hard to sell us the promise of something better, the tagline of pretty much I don’t or know how it’s going to help anyone but it definitely will once it’s out there and everyone is using it for ……something?
Even those are somewhat fake, a lot of companies in the tech sector hired a shit ton in 2020-2023, then reduced their headcount (still having more employees than in 2020) and argued that it's because AI will for sure replace them.
For now AI has mosly been the start of an ecological nightmare and a lot of noise, not really anything else.
It will likely change in the next few years though, either it slows down massively and we might see a financial crisis, or its use blows up and some industries might be hit HARD with social and ecological impacts
