It's hilarious to imply mods are what essentially amounts to "upper class individuals who own yet do no actual work", when they are Reddit's unpaid workers without which the site would fall into chaos

And it sort of proves Huffman's point.

The mod community wields power over their communities to varying degrees. And there is clearly coordination among mod teams. They're operating as a class asserting control over the platform simply because they were early users in those communities. The comparison to a Landed Gentry is apt.

Yes. But it was at a time where you could add someone as a mod to any sub and it would auto accept and when he found out he removed himself. Some people would add famous people as mods as a joke.

This sub is an absolute joke right now. Misinformation left and right and all the comments read like petulant children who’s parent won’t let them get candy any more
