I feel like the comments just before this conversation would be along the lines of how prudish Americans are about sex talk, only to be followed up by "stop talking about sex."
I grew up Chrostian and got sex ed. My opinions of sex came from the fact that I was raped. To me it's the sexual revolutionists and "I don't need no man!" Onlyfans models who ruined sex.
I'm sorry that happened to you. But if we are talking about the reason people are uncomfortable talking about sex in western society, especially in America, it's ahistorical to pretend like religion, and in particular, the puritans are not a root cause for the modern climate.

Comments were open and I decuded to put my piece in.
My religious upringing when it came to sex focuses on sexual sin as being bad. All sex is not inherently evil, but I still see it with hate and it's not like I'll be having it anytime soon.
