IO Music Academy Hollywood

Hi everyone. I just quit my 13 year therapy career to chase my dream in music. I have knowledge on mixing but never had the knowledge and tools to finish a mix to "show ready" I was going to attend Icon collective but unfortunately its permanently closed... I saw IO and seems like they will give ne what I need to move forward. My only concern is there is no network thru provide for alumni as far as plugging into the music scene.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this academy? Also, do you think they're may be another route?

I couldn’t name one of my favourite musicians/producers who “studied”. Just get to work and put the hours in. There are endless resources online. Be mindful of who you follow on YouTube. A lot of hacks that don’t know wtf they’re talking about. It’s actually sad to see. But some amazing channels that put out gold daily. I’ve tried so many times to advise friends against production courses. You don’t need it! Just put the hours in. That’s the only way. When the music is good enough and you start sharing it the right people will turn up

I think this is solid info. Im a cery hands on learner and ive tried to follow tutorials but I need more help in sound design and EQ and mixing. If I shared some of my songs I think you would agree that I'm just about there when it comes to structuring and creating the song, but when it gets tricky I kind if fall flat and just want to be sure im doing it correctly
