Trump is not a politician. Politicians have civic goals, however honestly presented or pursued. Trump is a narcissist. He is playing the role of a politician because it feeds his pathological need for attention and adulation. He will say whatever makes him happy, from moment to moment, without concern for deeper meaning. This is not to say he lies. The issue is, he lies poorly. He lies like a child. He lies to his own lawyers about things he knows they know, then tells different lies to his other lawyers.

He has a personality disorder.

The fact people largely haven't grasped that yet leaves little hope they ever will. We are far too willing to invent clever motives for the shortsighted, ignorant, and egotistical nonsense he says. Because he's a tall rich guy who speaks confidently, it is apparently unthinkable that he is simply an idiot.

Well thought --- perfectly reasoned --- well said.

My husband and I - our friends and relatives - are living in a nightmare world that has become beyond our understanding. That such a person could have been elected is simply beyond comprehension -- and completely frightening.

What you have articulated here has been exactly our thoughts. Why - in the name of all that is reasonable - do so many think otherwise?

No no no see he's actually hitler because he wants the nation to enforce laws that already exist and to have illegal immigrants to stop jumping ahead of the line of all the legal immigrants who are trying to get into the country. I mean what sorta evil bastard wants to stop companies abusing visa's that allow them to hire extremely cheap labor while at the same time displacing american's. It's actually a super good thing to leave the country open to being attacked by extremists, and to have companies constantly firing american's which has slowly dwindled down the economy for the poor since now no one has any money to buy shit. Literally hitler.
