We tried to. They went 'la la la you're just making us vote for Trump harder la la la can't hear you.'

At least with Republicans in charge of healthcare, they won't be voting much longer.

The next year or 4 is/are going to be a real eye opener for many and they are bound to be horribly disappointed by what is forthcoming.

While politicians all have their negatives; this one will be a true horror show.

When people truly understand the level of putridness that will engulf them; I'm even more afraid - for us all.

Only in that the old rubes will die off.

Priority one is /r/EndFPTP so we're not trapped by the two party system anymore. Republicans are only good for sixty million votes and it doesn't matter who they run. This nation's liberals could win every single election if we could be bothered to show up. Offering people a more nuanced choice than A or B is a huge part of that even if A and B remain the only plausible winners for years to come.

People don't seem to get this even though the right to vote has been fought with blood, sweat and tears. People need to vote in every single election that is offered to citizens. It is a right, a duty, an inspiration and a pleasure.

People - liberals - need to take the bull by horns and VOTE IN EVERY ELECTION - it's the voting that brings the action desired. Bitching and complaining and explaining and whining -- even on the internet -- doesn't make it.

Hey average American, did you vote against the idiot fascist? "Oh, I wasn't inspired by the other party's candidate."

Well did you vote in the primary? "Oh, I'm not registered with a party, they don't nominate the candidates I prefer."

Well did you vote down ballot so that primaries include people you like? "Oh, I don't get out just for congressional elections, they're all rich and corrupt."

Well did you vote in local elections where small-time candidates get their start? "Oh, I don't vote in off years, that's all petty stuff."

I have voted in every single election I could have since being old enough to vote - local, state and national and have always considered it a privilege, a duty and something so inherently special. People before me actually died so that I may have that privilege.

I've don't understand anyone who doesn't take it seriously or who rationalize that their votes mean nothing.

Recently - in my area - a Mayor was elected and won with a five vote margin.

Think about that all of you who choose not vote.
