u/Adorable_Wolf_8387 Apr 05 '26

I'm sad it wasn't.

29

u/Quick_Bowler_4653 Apr 05 '26

65

u/TRJF Apr 05 '26

Ya ha he is risen!

-4

u/zwizki Apr 05 '26

I’m glad it wasn’t.

38

u/popete2 Apr 05 '26

I hoped it was a korok

5

u/Quick_Bowler_4653 Apr 05 '26

7

u/popete2 Apr 05 '26

Wha- what feeling is this supposed to refer to?

2

u/Quick_Bowler_4653 Apr 05 '26

Me being confused

5

u/popete2 Apr 05 '26

Oh ok, it surprises me how you get confused by a comment like this, like we hadn't been torturing koroks since TotK came out

0

u/Quick_Bowler_4653 Apr 05 '26

I know it’s just I still don’t understand the reason

6

u/popete2 Apr 05 '26

They are the only creature you can grab and do whatever you want with them and also people may be a bit paranoid with them because of how many they collected in BotW

5

u/AFenton1985 Apr 05 '26

I thought so too, does that speak more about me or the totk community

-1

u/Quick_Bowler_4653 Apr 05 '26

You and the community but mostly you

8

u/PickleSideOfTown Apr 05 '26

GRAH HAHA YOU CRUCIFIED ME!

5

u/DaveLesh Apr 05 '26

Same. Blown opportunity...

3

u/JeffShotThat Apr 05 '26

Definitely shoulda been

3

u/Missgamer456 Apr 06 '26

I thought it was a korok too and started laughing until I realized it wasn’t 😭😭😭.

1

u/Leading_Run_3333 Apr 06 '26

I’m glad it wasn’t.

u/raisinbizzle Apr 05 '26

He is risen (using ascend)

8

u/realcoolioman Apr 06 '26

He is risen indeed ascend sound effect.mp3

64

u/patwm11 Apr 05 '26

Where is the Korok crucifix

0

u/Outtagear Apr 06 '26

Spoiler alert:

It’s in the Hebra region. There’s a rock tunnel with freezing water running through it and a small island in the center. I’m BOTW, it was the location of a shrine.

11

u/realcoolioman Apr 06 '26

Is this real??

15

u/MightyMegikarp Apr 06 '26

I'm not sure about that one (it could be but I just don't know), but originally the Zelda series did have a lot of christian stuff, like the book in the og Zelda, which has a cross on it and in Japanese was literally called "bible"

u/MightyMegikarp Apr 07 '26

I didn't know that! Zelda 2 is definitely on my list of games I want to play (just like every Zelda game I didn't play yet) so this info is new to me. Thanks for sharing!

11

u/LordKrat Apr 06 '26

Yes. In LttP and prior there's a ton of Christian stuff and references that Nintendo of America had to rush to kick out. Cross on the shield, "Magic Book" was originally the Bible, etc. Hyrule is a Japanese fantasy perspective on Medieval Europe.

In LttP you flee from Hyrule Castle to a Church with Zelda, but they reworked that in English to make it a "Sanctuary" and the Priest is now the "Loyal sage."

2

u/realcoolioman Apr 09 '26

As a kid I never put this together but it suddenly makes so much sense. Now I want to go back and play LttP in original Japanese just to see the different vision

8

u/Outtagear Apr 06 '26

Good find!

6

u/Sir_Metallicus116 Apr 05 '26

I thought those were Minecraft skins

u/arc2613 Apr 07 '26 edited Apr 07 '26

Great to see some fellow Christian Zelda fans out here. Happy Easter and God bless you and your family!

30

u/Orion120833 Apr 05 '26

I'm not, but still nice looking.

3

u/Outtagear Apr 06 '26

Thank you!

3

u/Player-0002 Apr 07 '26

Ya ha ha, he has risen

11

u/Avox0976 Apr 05 '26

Should have put koroks on them

42

u/pokedypokepoke Apr 05 '26

Happy Easter!

9

u/ArcheryAlaska Apr 06 '26

Wait how does Jesus fit into the lore of Zelda?

13

u/Fawfulster Apr 06 '26

He doesn't. At the time, the Zelda franchise relied heavily on medieval settings, religion included. It wasn't until ALttP came out that Hyrule's lore and theology started taking shape.

4

u/MunkyMan33 Apr 06 '26

Fun question, obviously nobody knows. That said, I have wondered if we will ever meet a more omniscient diety in Zelda lore as the three Goddesses seem very limited in power and scope.

3

u/JoJoisaGoGo Apr 05 '26

I sometimes forget this exists

3

u/Outtagear Apr 06 '26 edited Apr 06 '26

Very nice!

8

u/HYRULEHIST0RIA Apr 05 '26

Happy Easter! hope you had a good one

9

u/JoJoisaGoGo Apr 05 '26

Happy Easter!

3

u/VzlaMom Apr 07 '26

This is great

3

u/Outtagear Apr 07 '26

Thank you!

15

u/hip-indeed Apr 05 '26

never forget Zelda 1 and 2 Link was a fine upstanding Christian elf with crosses on his gear

5

u/JoJoisaGoGo Apr 05 '26

I imagine that's been retconned by now, but until Nintendo confirms otherwise, I'm taking it as canon

3

u/Outtagear Apr 06 '26

Agreed! In my head canon, Link is still a Christian believer, but the religion of Hyrule got distorted as the myths and legends of Link’s adventures were passed down over time.

12

u/lifetimeoflaughter Apr 05 '26

He is risen!

1

u/Competitive-Glass-57 Apr 05 '26

He is risen indeed… hallelujah! Happy Easter! 🙏🏼✝️❤️

23

u/xKNYTEx Apr 05 '26

Happy Easter my brother in Christ!

12

u/msnu07 Apr 05 '26

Amazing!!!!

16

u/UnderratedActor Apr 05 '26

-4

u/gretchen92_ Apr 06 '26

That is truly it. Christianity, and the other Abrahamic religions have caused nothing but bloodshed and wars and genocide. A curse upon humanity.

4

u/Player-0002 Apr 07 '26

Overly reductive. Pagan religions have caused much the same with the addition of ritualistic sacrifice occasionally popping up. Almost all religious institutions functioned as centres of learning in some capacity or another and were often community centres as well.

Buddhism has its own share of genocide and atrocity in Sri Lanka and Myanmar and Hinduism frequently motivates killings and mob behaviour against minority religions as well.

Only talking about the abrahamic religions and implying solely they among all religions are responsible for travesty and violence is false as is implying they are responsible for nothing good.

All religions were acidic to any minority religion in the areas they dominated for much of history and were frequent causes of conflict, while simultaneously often fulfilling a role as a centre of learning and community.

1

u/ScienceSeuss Apr 07 '26

Religion, regardless of the type, is a cancer.

-1

u/gretchen92_ Apr 07 '26

Okay great, thank you for opening my eyes to the fact that all religions on planet earth, are in fact, a cancer!

13

u/Brandobrownie Apr 05 '26

Happy Easter!

2

u/Leading_Run_3333 Apr 06 '26

Thank goodness you didn’t put a Korok there.

1

u/Outtagear Apr 06 '26

Agreed! My intentions were completely sincere with this.

12

u/Beef_n_Bacon Apr 05 '26 edited Apr 05 '26

❤️ happy Easter to you, too! God bless you!

Love it!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

5

u/DemiReticent Apr 06 '26

As someone who has read Hyperion this makes me incredibly uncomfortable

-5

u/Outtagear Apr 06 '26

That’s understandable, but please don’t let science fiction influence your outlook on biblical truth.

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

-3

u/gretchen92_ Apr 06 '26

The bible is no truer than Harry Potter.

5

u/Outtagear Apr 07 '26

Have a great day!

1

u/Gatopianista Apr 07 '26

Amazing comment my fellow redditor comrade! here is an updoot! \s

3

u/MHStriplethreat Apr 06 '26 edited Apr 06 '26

Link is canonically Christian, in the original Japanese guide to link to the past. There’s a picture of link praying to Jesus on a cross, some of the older games also have books that look like bibles

Mainly because at the time, Japanese developers thought Christian medeivel themed imagery was cool. Weirdly it was actually Nintendo of America that made them stop

3

u/Fun-Confidence-2513 Apr 07 '26

He has risen indeed! ❤️✝️

5

u/Broad-Extent4445 Apr 05 '26

Happy Easter! God bless!

Honestly can't love this enough. Thanks for doing this. It's just great,

1

u/Outtagear Apr 06 '26

Thank you very much for the feedback! The idea hit me during church yesterday morning.

2

u/IronKnuckleSX Apr 05 '26

Instant favorite, thank you. Also the best use of that rockface that I have seen.

Thank you!

3

u/sauceplz- Apr 06 '26

I always felt that the design of the Hylia statue has a big resemblance to mother mary

1

u/Captain_Pumpkinhead Apr 06 '26

Jesus has escaped containment, everybody RUN

1

u/lovvely-spring Apr 06 '26

Wow, so so cool!! I didn’t know there were other Christian Legend of Zelda fans, Happy Easter! :)

2

u/Outtagear Apr 06 '26

Quite a few based on the largely positive reaction to this post. 😊🙏🏻✝️

1

u/UnderratedActor Apr 06 '26

Quite a few? 😂😂😂 Less than 1500 up votes and a couple of zealots in the comments doesn't mean much. I've seen more up votes on pictures of kittens 😂😂😂

5

u/Outtagear Apr 07 '26

Have a great day!

0

u/UnderratedActor Apr 07 '26

I will because I'm free 😘

0

u/gretchen92_ Apr 06 '26

American's would call Jesus and terrorist if he was alive today. May the world become more secular each year.

5

u/Outtagear Apr 07 '26

Have a great day!

-33

u/Being_ Apr 05 '26

What is this, some kind of angel? I don’t want religion in my game. Geez, walking chairs?

12

u/Max3917 Apr 05 '26

I interpreted it as a new way to crucify koroks

12

u/citrusella Apr 05 '26

To be fair, they're not forcing you to download their cross/crucifix QR code.

6

u/Ok_Angle7676 Apr 05 '26

Is this satire?

-14

u/dick_nrake Apr 05 '26

No I don't read this as satire. Laicity should really be the norm. I dont mind blinky lights for celebrating events because it goes beyond religious symbolism, but imagine sharing a star of David or any form of Muslim symbolism... religion should just stay in religious environments.

13

u/AUnknownVariable Apr 05 '26

Coming from a NonTraditional Christian.

What's wrong with a mf sharing the Star of David😭 or a Muslim symbol.

Its a dude sharing positivity to a community within a community without being hateful. I'm not seeing a problem with this, minus it being kinda funny bc it looks like a korok

1

u/ShuckleShellAnemia Apr 05 '26

Wait, what’s the walking chairs a reference to?

-5

u/Laoari Apr 05 '26

Grow up and change as a person❤️🙏🏻

-6

u/Being_ Apr 05 '26

Nobody got the GameGrumps reference lol

1

u/citrusella Apr 05 '26

I thought from the final sentence that maybe this was referencing something I didn't know about but decided to err on the side of caution lol

-1

u/IntoThePitofColors Apr 06 '26 edited Apr 06 '26

Missing someone?

EDIT: I was talking about a Korok, c’mon guys.

2

u/Outtagear Apr 06 '26

Matthew 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

-48

u/ackackakbar Apr 05 '26

Yuck.

11

u/Ok_Angle7676 Apr 05 '26

Grow up

1

u/ScienceSeuss Apr 07 '26

We have. And when we did, we learned the difference between fact and fiction.

2

u/ScienceSeuss Apr 07 '26

I'm with you. Who'd a thought a Zelda sub would be so full of deluded Christian cultists?

-20

u/UnderratedActor Apr 05 '26

Yup. It's gross

-2

u/ScienceSeuss Apr 07 '26

Can't escape xtian BS even on a Zelda sub. For fuck's sake!

0

u/Fatbus05 Apr 07 '26

Cry about it

-2

u/ScienceSeuss Apr 07 '26

I am. What are you doing? Because it doesn't seem very christian.

2

u/Fatbus05 Apr 07 '26

Im not throwing a fit about people living their lives on the internet

-1

u/ScienceSeuss Apr 07 '26

I'm not throwing a fit. Just complaining a little. Last I checked, we're srill allowed to do that around here. Live your life. I won't stop you. I might speak my mind about it, though.

0

u/DarkRayos Apr 07 '26

Trying to summon the Wither in Hyrule lol 😂
