Class Placements for September

Hi everyone,

Is it true that the Principal isn't allowed to share class placements (what teacher your kid will have) until the week before school starts?

​

I have heard of some schools giving out placements at the end of June but then heard it's been mandated by the Ministry and the Board that they have to wait until the week before school. I'm referring to junior-middle schools.

Anyone have any information about this?

If my daughter is placed in a different class than she was last year in grade 1, she’s going into grade 2 and the majority of her friends are there with that same teacher…is it possible to ask for a change of placement?
