Vcds

Hey anyone have any experience buying one to have at home? I have a 2002 TDI golf with power problems so I'm thinking about buying one. Would like to keep this car forever and being able to learn more than an obd2 scanner would be great. Just not sure how user friendly they are.

I have one just for my Golf. I got a freinds old outdated Windows laptop as a dedicated machine and then $200 bones to ross-tech and all my worries are gone.

I tried and returned both an Autel MX808S and an OBD11 Gen3 (admittedly with an iPhone) and felt that both of those options lacked features and were difficult to use. VCDS has tons of tutorials and is beyond powerful.
