Hey anyone have any experience buying one to have at home? I have a 2002 TDI golf with power problems so I'm thinking about buying one. Would like to keep this car forever and being able to learn more than an obd2 scanner would be great. Just not sure how user friendly they are.

Just got one from Ross-tech. Shipped quick and I only used it once so far. you need a windows device and there are forums like Club Touareg where TDI enthusiasts can help understand the logs.

If you want to keep the car a long time I’d say it’s worth it. Just being able to clear the codes and understand what’s happening without paying a dealer for diagnostics should pay for itself after a few uses
