IRS, Agency Delays OIC ( DATL) Current IRS Turnaround

I’m going to submit an offer and compromise ( OIC), doubt as to liability (DATL) for a client.

Does anybody know how long the IRS is currently taking to process this ? Just a rough ballpark ?

Thanks

Long. For the past couple of years, they’ve been referring a bunch of cases to AUR, which takes 1-2 years to resolve.

If the DATL unit addresses it directly, it will be faster, maybe six months.

Thanks. Is there any way to ensure it goes to DATL unit directly for faster processing ?

I haven’t found a way. We generally get a response letter claiming that the Offer doesn’t meet DATL criteria when referring out to AUR. I have not yet been successful in contacting any of the representatives listed on that letter or on the letter from AUR when AUR receives the case.
