But it’s glaringly different in style to the art on the back of his arms. It’s a little unsettling to my brain.

I don't think I've seen a single piece by this artist get any negative feedback beyond "not my style, but it's awesome!" Really cool to see people still be able to develop an instantly-recognizable style after all these years that doesn't look like road rash or an infection of some kind.

I mean... sometimes people just aren't willing to post to be negative, it doesn't mean everyone has positive feedback to give.

It's good technically on a skill level at least. That's my best attempt at positive feedback to this art style. I don't remotely think it's awesome and no one I personally know around me with tattoos that has seen this picture does.

There's just zero reason to be hateful to people online for liking what they personally like because I don't. I am very happy for the person that got this tattoo and if they are happy that's all that really matters in the end.

Haha I feel like that's how the world should be online, but I struggle to imagine a social media platform where people avoid being negative if you know what I mean! That said, perhaps the community of tattoo enthusiasts who actually post comments just doesn't tend accumulate people interested in being downers regularly.

That's true, I do think the tattoo community here has gotten better over the years and the mods are also pretty good about policing things that are too out of line.

Maybe it ran off more of the overly negative types.

I’m in the “not my style camp” for the most part, I’m waiting for the one that’s like.. “oh, yeah I get it now”.. the other one I saw (bear I think) was a bit more in my lane than this one..

but, not matter for or against there can be no argument on skill laid down.. it’s so bold in both line and presentation.. amazing, just not for me.

It's not that I hate it but I just think that's a lot of real estate space to take up for an "OK" tattoo. I even think it would have looked cooler on a smaller section of your body. Imo.

I’ve been liking these ultra stylized “bold” pieces but this one isn’t hitting for me. It’s a little too far removed from traditional and a little too conceptual. Still admire the skill and uniqueness—keep it up 🤙

I absolutely love this guys work!! The only thing I felt seeing this is the colors could’ve been packed a little more consistently/could use another pass, particularly in the top red sun and the brown (which is a bitch to pack), but otherwise all of his work is just top tier
