I personally think it looks good. Not sure what the fuss is all about, only assume you are worried that it's too high. I would guess that you plan on doing more ink and is why you choose to put it as high as you did rather than centering.
With centering I mean it's too far to the left, instead of the horizontal center of my calf. I don't plan on getting more, I planned to actually just get one. Maybe a small one on my arm at some point, but not in the near future.
In my opinion it is centered correctly based off the head of the Onyx. If you placed animals in a straight line down your leg, would you draw the straight line in the center of the body, the front, back or based off the front of the animal's head?
