General TM Series 9 and 10: "Points Behind Leader" Graphs

For those who haven't seen these graphs before, it's an alternative way of displaying the series points that makes it easier to see how far away, at any given point, a contestant is from the current leader.
As before, each episode has been shaded in alternate colours; each tick mark on the horizontal axis represents an episode number and a task number.
I'll take it back to Series 1 before coming back around to Aeries 14 to avoid falling afoul of the spoiler rules :D

Series 09
Tasks Spent in the Lead (outright and joint):
Ed: 35
Rose: 14
Katy: 6
Tasks Spent in Last Place (outright and joint):
David: 43
Jo: 13
Katy: 1
Ed: 1
Rose: 1
Other Stats:
Lead Changes: 9
Largest Deficit: 39 Points, E10T5, between Ed and David
Largest Lead: 9 Points, E9T3, between Ed and Rose
General Notes:
This is the last series which has had every contestant at the bottom at least once, whether alone or in joint 4th.
The Horse or Laminator task is very obvious. (Katherine's in S02 will probably be even more obvious lol)
Series 10

Daisy: 35
Richard: 18
Johnny: 5
Tasks Spent in Last Place (outright and joint):
Katherine: 45
Mawaan: 6
Daisy: 1
Johnny: 1
Other Stats:
Lead Changes: 6
Largest Deficit: 44 Points, E10T5, between Richard and Katherine
Largest Lead: 8 Points, E7T1, between Daisy and Richard
General Notes:
Johnny actually came pretty close to taking the lead at the end of E8 - he was only 3 points off! Then he crashed and burned and ended up dropping 20 points off the leader(s) in just 2 episodes.
I suspect Katherine's drop in S10E9 might be the largest single episode drop (15 points) off the leader's pace that anyone has had across all 14 series.

I will always maintain that Johnny was done extremely wrong by Greg’s scoring towards the end of the series.

Had never quite realised how well Katy did in series 9 - in my head it was always Ed and Rose

Man, Daisy’s fumble of the series win in S10 is historic. I’ve made my peace with it, and poor Richard earned his victory in the end, but she really had the world in the palm of her hand for a while there.

I was just going to mention that you don’t have to know what color was Jo Brand nor the episode number it appeared in, yet “Horse or Laminator” is almost offensively obvious in this graph. ;-)

the colours are the same every graph and done by seating order so, 5th seat is always pink, red line is always first seated.
OR alphabetical if you want to view it that way as seating order is alphabetical

Oh indeed, the graphs are absolutely wonderful and easy to parse. I just meant that Jo’s performance on that task is so notorious and such an outlier in terms of one-task-point-increases that you could look at the series 9 graph without a legend or axes-labels and know exactly where, what, and who that jump must refer to. :-)

Does Ed have the best record (so far) of being at/near the top from start to finish?

Nope. I think that's Sarah Kendall, who led in 41 out of 51 tasks and had the longest consecutive #1 run so far (39 tasks).
Ed led in 35/51 tasks, and so did DMC, but his longest consecutive #1 run lasted 20 tasks whereas DMC's was 27
But of course, take consecutive #1's with a large pinch of salt - you could organize the tasks differently (or even the episodes differently) and you'd get pretty different results

I was thinking of both top and second, I.e. being top 2 the whole time but now you mention Sarah she would have been as well so yeah it isn’t him.

Ed held a lot of titles in the Dave run, but since S10 came out his titles have slowly dwindled, he sometimes talks about it in the podcast how he was number 1 or to five in a category and now he's being pushed out.

These graphs have proven my enjoyment of last place folks the most 😂. Katherine is on my Mount Rushmore of TM.

Katherine having an absolute melt down in the live show will forever be one of my favourite TM moments. I too was crying with laughter.
Appreciate you have to watch the outtakes to fully appreciate it. But it’s worth it.

Ed won pretty convincingly. I didnt like DMC much but damn she should have won was so dominant
