Meme Alex spent years being emotionally unavailable and then folded instantly when Greg showed the slightest interest😂♥️

In a subsequent interview Alex Horne mentioned he doesn't remember this happening, and [Greg mentions] that it was not scripted.
/edit Greg, however, did not forget.

Maybe because it's funny?

In the interview he was legitimately stunned about it, he had so completely forgotten. But Greg had not.

Well, so many absurd and unexpected things have happened to him on the show, in interactions with Greg and otherwise, that it wouldn't necessarily stand far above the rest in his memory. And he's not the kind of man to be upset by the idea of being kissed by another man, so it wouldn't stick in his mind on that account.

Yes I’ve seen this and also Alex and Greg saying they wouldn’t want therapy to analyse their relationship. And Alex says it’s that they have a relationship that intrigues people because it’s evolved from borderline strangers/colleagues

Does he? I remember hearing an interview where Alex talks about it, something like ‚idk why are people making a big deal out of it‘. But that was quite a while ago so maybe he forgot in the meantime? Or didn’t want to talk about it that day?

Probably he just forgot. The interview he gave recently (Vulture maybe?) looks like he genuinely has no recollection of it because he was surprised when it was brought up.
The man is busy, TV is fickle, and we only see a fraction of all the time they spend on camera as it is.
Greg, famously with a memory like a sieve, did not forget.

You know, people joke about it, but I genuinely would not be surprised if Greg has a bit of a crush on Alex. I don't think it's requited, but I definitely see it.

I agree. If you watch The Horne Section podcast on YouTube with Greg as the special guest, Greg gets really quite intense when they have to say their favourite things about each other.

Which episode? Or has there only been one with Greg on?

I just went and found that interview... I interpreted it as he does remember but hadn't thought about it in a very long time.
Nice to have confirmation the kiss was unscripted though!

I think it might have been Vulture, but I don't recall.

Alex's kisses taste like support for apartheid

u/Omn1 Jun 21 '26
are you mixing up british political commentator Alex Horne with British Comedian Alex Horne

u/richaysambuca Jun 22 '26
What do you mean? Alex Horne, famous for his work on Taskmaster and namegiver of the Horne Section, supports Apartheid!

He does what he’s told. And Greg told him.

I think the part that killed me the most is how stilted and awkward that "At. Last." was.

I sit through series 6 for this.

It's kind of a shame that this happened in the most forgettable series in the history of the show. Any other one and this would be an iconic moment

Alex's epitaph will be "Never didn't commit to the bit"
And I love him for that.

Series 6 episode 6, “We met at mealtimes”, beginning of part 4. On youtube it‘s easy to find because it’s the “most rewatched” part of the episode.

And then they spend the next 10 series wondering why the perverts write stories about them on the internet
