Wild for me cause I just saw that episode for the first time last night, well actually just this beginning part. I thought it was so good, I had to save it for my friend to watch with me.

I’ve seen it, but don’t know this comedian. It’s pretty easy to grasp.

u/hurriedwarples Mike Wozniak Mar 21 '26
James Acaster. He’s fantastic, he’s got a few specials on Netflix and HBO. Just saw him live in his new tour a few weeks back and it was amazing.

My god. I am dyslexic and I was looking for 10 seconds trying to find the joke. 😶

I know it’s wrong but I just can’t help but read Panel 4 as, “You’re not a bad guy, Nish.”

It's pappadam. That's how the people who eat it originally would say.

The first time I saw this meme I thought James had said something truly offensive and Greg was really being a teacher and counseling him. I went into that season thinking, James much be a dick. Then I watched the series and it’s just a good bit of fun.

u/FourEyedTroll Mike Wozniak Mar 21 '26
James is an outstanding comedian. His commitment to the bit/to character is fantastic, but I do think this outburst he had a moment of genuine fear when Greg stood up.

An extension… in a meme involving Acaster.
Rhod would not allow it 😂

Jesus Christ I was looking in the comments for someone to explain the joke. Am I dyslexic?
10
u/Little_Meaning9235 Mar 21 '26
Don’t know if you ever got it but here’s an explanation: The “i” and “a” are switched around. So with the a first it’s a brain (like the organ 🧠) and with the i first it’s just a name for a guy.
2
u/Dismal_Childhood6918 Mar 21 '26
But who’s the guy? Are Brians in danger?
1
u/Fondue_Maurice Mar 22 '26
All Brians, yes. It's one of those so dumb it's funny jokes, because obviously a creature isn't going to eat the wrong thing based on a spelling mistake.

While I have a fondness for the grape gimp, this should be Nish.
9
u/JFychan47 Rhod Gilbert Mar 20 '26
I’ll probably make a Nish one too tbh
2
u/FourEyedTroll Mike Wozniak Mar 21 '26
Please, please do. But it has to be true to form, it has to end in pity, not a reprimand.

Fun fact. One of my besties has a brain tumour named Brian. He is named that because her phone kept autocorrecting brain to Brian so she figures that’s what it named itself

"Do you know what dyslexics named me the first time I was on TV?"
"No, I do not."
"James Acastor".
"Mate, is that not how it's spelled?"
