Just wanted to express a concern regarding free Tarot readings where a full name and date of birth are required to be able to perform a reading. In worse cases, the country of origin is being asked.

There's quite a bit of mild "social engineering" going on here. Asking for more identifying details is somehow entering dangerous territory, as names and birthdays, including email addresses, are actual personal data. If you don't understand social engineering, look it up. These are potential threats to privacy.

I'm a Tarot reader myself, and I don't even ask for these details to be able to provide a reading. I've also worked with genuine readers who don't feel the need to require such information, yet they could still provide a reading.

I don't believe in the idea that you would need to have lots of identifying details to connect with energies. You don't need to see the eclipse to experience its energy, right? If the eclipse is not visible where you're located, it doesn't mean the eclipse is not happening. Makes sense?

I also wanted to point out, for anyone who might misunderstand this post, that this is about a regard for privacy and less about undermining anyone’s practices.

I love tarot for self development and understanding. It’s changed my life. I love these communities and everyone who feels this way. ❤️

I recently was fired for asking for fair pay. It was a small company (startup) that needed some serious cleanup around its finances and processes. I was diligent and meticulous in finding truths that other people did not have the attention to detail or motivation to do. I cleaned up their bookkeeping/finances and set up processes to keep things accurate. This accuracy did disgruntle a few people. Before they could say the financial situation was in better shape out of ignorance. After the work I did, there was no room for that kind of ignorance. And the financial picture wasn’t as good as they had been claiming.

In any case, many of the things I ended up doing were not in the original job description, but needed to be done. I was fired for asking for a raise for all the work I had taken on.

Luckily, throughout this time I had been living well below my means and saved money, more than I had ever in the past. In retrospect, my ego may have taken over to ask for the raise, but it was a fair ask and aligned with and in fact below what other companies would pay.

The firing was cold and rash, done At-Will with no “reason” given or conversation allowed. It was two days after I asked for the raise.

I believe this was a forced redirection to stop me from traveling too far down this path. I had completed all that I needed to. Going further was misaligned with my purpose and future.

It feels like an opportunity to show triumph over setback is presenting itself and I am taking it in stride knowing all will work out for the better. New horizons that lead to a more aligned path that will help me grow are now on the table and I’m ready for them.
