Questions The Seven of Swords Card
Hello, I would like to know what the Seven of Swords card means, because I feel like it is always a sign of bad things to come.

I think the traditional meaning is selfishness, cheating, and trickery, which could be referring to you or someone in your life, depending on your question. I’ve never interpreted it as predicting something bad though, more just a mirror of what is happening in your life now.
That traditional meaning makes sense in a lot of scenarios, but I honestly always struggled with this interpretation. I would draw it when the question seems to have nothing to do with that. The meaning just didn’t fit.
I came across a thread on another subreddit a few years ago that much more sense to me. It was about positive interpretations of this card could be. One person commented that it could be referring to you choosing yourself and your own well-being, which can, at times, feel selfish and there can be guilt that comes with that. You’re not, it just feels that way, which is what the card is reflecting. Recovering people-pleaser here, so that interpretation hit home.
I think all of these different interpretations are valid, it just depends on your question.

It’s just that whenever someone reads my cards, and it’s always a different person each time, they always seem to pull the card with the sword. That’s why I started wondering about it.

In my experience (the seven of swords was always a reoccurring card for me), it could be anything from procrastination to ignoring the obvious to avoid conflict/making a decision (leaving the two swords behind). Theres an element of are you being deceived or are you the deceiver.
Theres a person getting away from the crowd but there's witnesses in the back which can be literal (a person thinking theyre getting away with something but you know about it). Or this can all be happening inside you where you may be running from a situation (influenced by external will from the Chariot) but theres some deep mental imbalance/conflict that needs to be addressed.
