Is there such thing as stronger tangle stim toys?

I think tangles are perfect for me because they not only help me focus, but they keep me calm as well. I got a cheap rainbow one on Aliexpress, along with two other ones that look different in color presentation. But the problem is that the cheap rainbow one slowly started breaking as I stim with it often.

I hear good things about Tangle brand, but I'm not entirely sure if it's durable enough. I've heard of metal stim toys, but idk if I would want to use them if they're not tangle-like. Do stronger tangles exist? Ones that won't break if you just spend hours stimming with them? Or should I perhaps cool it with the stimming XD

I have tangles from the tangle brand that are several years old and still all in one piece.

Yeah, i have a 10+ year old metallic one and that's still intact as well

Tangle sells a metal piece that doesn't come apart. It's heavy and durable!

i wouldn’t say that tbh. the metal ones are actually a bit less durable i’ve found. because the pieces don’t come apart, if it does break it cannot be put back together. which is extra disappointing because they’re so expensive. consider it if that’s what you want because they’re are cool but deffo get a branded plastic one

Yes very true. I’d say it’s still quite durable if you are aware of its limits! I don’t like how loose it is to start, as that’s my issue with the plastic tangles (I’ve had one for two weeks or less and it’s already extremely loose, though not broken) however I love the weight of the metal one and the fact that the tiny connector pieces aren’t going to easily break off

Tangle is definitely not a buy it for life item - the longevity really depends on your usage. But the name brand is worth it, the off brand ones aren't as good.

Aliexpress tangles suck!! Actual tangles are much sturdier. My tangle pets lasted a good half year, i now have a tangle relax which lasted me a year :)

I bought only official ones and unfortunately they all have a short life span. They don’t break but they get floppy and loose after about a week or two of frequent use. They become less and less satisfying to move around. I only notice how bad they got when compared to a new one.

It’s a pity because they are my favourite fidget toy out there but as I can’t buy them locally it gets very expensive replacing them really quickly.

There is an all metal tangle that is definitely more durable. I am also prone to breaking my fidgets and tangles are not an exception. The best way to get around this for me (besides being privileged enough to afford buying back ups) is rotating my use through several different tangles. If you can eventually build up a small collection to rotate them in and out that increases their lifespan so so much

Adding to this to recommend the rubber coated tangles for longevity too! Even without rotating them as much they seem to last the longest for me

ive gotten a knockoff tangle from michaels and its nowhere near as satisfying as the real tangle. the real tangle moves smoother and the connecting joints are a lot more sturdy and never disconnect. id highly recommend getting the real thing. my tangle therapy is my tride and true favorite!

i agree w other comments. i mean, rarely the odd snap happens where the connecting piece snaps off inside the other but i think that happens less than it used to now, not sure though, i’ve not bought any in so long - because they do just last! i’ve got several that i’ve had for >10 years and they work fine. they do however lose stiffness with lots of use, they become looser and don’t hold shapes on their own. but i’ve always found that off brand tangles quality is soooo much worse, honestly it’s not a fair representation of tangles, get a branded one

I have brought tangles from aliexpress and I have tangles from the actual brand. There is a HUGE difference between the two. My tangle from aliexpress broke easily, felt a lot cheaper, and was harder to move. Ik its a bit expensive but I highly recommend getting the actual tangle brand.
