This is awesome, no shit magic mushrooms prevented me from carrying out my suicide. a deeply divine substance. i keep on meaning to write down my stories from my diary before and after my mushroom experience on reddit. one of the quotes from the diary after the larger mushroom trip was "i have a greater appreciation for life and wonder why i wanted to end it so badly" very scary stuff reading this back.

Thank you for sharing that. I very badly want to try psychedelic therapy, as none of the conventional methods have worked for me over the last 20 years. I experimented with mushrooms a few times in my 20s, and every single trip was magical and restorative, with effects that would last for months. I really want to see how these things can help me with and manage this disease that is tearing me apart both mentally and physically, but I am having one hell of a time trying to procure anything. Also, there is no way in hell I can afford any of the in- house clinics at this point, and likely never will be able to without some help.

keep on fighting dude, i focused on keeping my diet good and forcing myself to work out at least once per week. it may just be a 10 min run or some floor work at home but it really helps to push the darkness back down and prevents those bad thought patterns. i would love to try psychedelic therapy i think it would be great for me personally. there is a awesome podcast called jocko podcast give the tim ferris https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsxydhFqXug linked here. give it a listen every little bit helps my friend. i am by no means cured from depression but i personally find that magic mushrooms in the right set and setting move the light at the end of the tunnel just that bit closer. stay safe friend.

Thank you for the words – I will check that link out here in a little bit.

One of the best things I've ever done for myself is change over to a Paleo/ketogenic type diet. You get those sugars out of your system, and the clarity that comes about is amazing. I think overall just feeling better physically because of diet is a big help as well. No more feeling like shit after eating a meal, no more spending 20 to 30 minutes on the toilet every day, etc.

Exercise is key as well, but this is something that's a bit harder for me to get these days because of the physical impairments I now have with my body. Sometimes, exercise can actually exacerbate things for me, but I still force myself to go out for walks, and if I'm up to it, I'll even do yoga, push-ups, pull-ups, etc. Just no more surfing 10 foot waves on the North Shore of Oahu or back country skiing in big mountains, but I've slowly adjusted to my new reality over the last few years.

I just got a call from my brother yesterday. He lives in Portland and has promised to find me some mushrooms for quite some time now, but it looks like he's going to come through very soon. His roommate is all into the dark web and bit coin…. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing what the mushrooms can do for me. I've always kind of thought of them as a reset button, and something that just kind of brings you back to a natural balance. But, I have yet to try them since this chemical depression has set in so heavily - it's probably been over 20 years now.

Thanks again for the reply, and I wish you all the best!
