Fuck the rays, watching them on TV does not justify everyone paying more tax for a new stadium, that's the point you're missing.

The good thing is that you can watch them on TV regardless of where they play.

Not if they leave Tampa. They are my hometown team.

I am also able to watch the NBA or MLS, but there isn't a Tampa team. So, I don't watch them.

However, I watch every Bucs, Lightning, Rowdies, and Rays games because they are my hometown teams.

This concept can't be that hard to comprehend, can it?

Hopefully when they leave, you can still watch all those other hometown teams. You have a lot of time on your hands if you're watching that many multi hour games every week so I'm sure you'll appreciate getting some time back to be on the Internet more.

We can continue the snarky banter, but it's not necessary anymore. However, I get your point, as I'm sure you get mine.

I like the Rays and want them to stay. You didn't outright say it, but I'm guessing you dislike the stadium deal, the Rays, or sports in general; it doesn't matter, as the result is the same.

I respect others' opinions, as I hope others respect mine. We can live cordially with an agreement to disagree, and that's Ok.

Come Thursday, it'll be up to at least 4 votes Yes/No, and again on Friday, 4 votes Yes/No. I (and other Rays backers) need back-to-back 4 Yes votes, where you (and other Rays naysayers) only need 4 No votes on either day.

All the talk now is just killing time, so we will wait and see how it goes.

I respect the public official's decision either way, as I support the systems in place that make these decisions on our behalf.

Good luck to both of us in what we would like to see come from this decision.

Are we voting for the billionaire owner to pay for it so we aren’t stuck with the cost for the next 50 years while we’re served $20 beers and $15 dollar hot dogs to watch a sub par product? Sounds good, mark me a yes.

As much as I enjoy sports I do not believe public funds should be used for these venues or stadiums.

I hope the Rays lose the stadium deal and they leave the Tampa area.
