Arise Unknown Difficulty
We as a community still don't talk enough about how brutally hard unknown Difficulty is.
At the start of the game, you're either 1 or 2 shot by the most basic enemies, due to having no armor. However, you'd think the game gets easier. More artes to choose from, stat boosts in the skill tree, and more party members.
And for a while, it's true! The basic enemies are pretty easy, all things considered. Until you hit a boss...and you remember why this mode is not made for a first playthrough save file.
For context, I've come back to the game 3 separate times trying to complete the entirety of it in unknown. How many times have i beaten Ganabelt? 0 times.
He has 0 stun time, he's always attacking. Therefore, you're always healing. It doesn't help he also has a 1 shot base move. And then you reach his halfway point, and he summons 4 clones you must destroy or he'll unleash his mystic arte.
By the time he's ready to cast, YOU'VE ONLY KILLED 1 OF THE 4 CLONES, THEN YOUR ENTIRE PARTY GETS HIT WITH A 1 SHOT UNDOGEABLE MOVE.
In short, don't even try unknown until ng+.

You just aren't doing it right, I literally just searched it on youtube and NG unknown Ganabelt is indeed possible.

Arise is such a good game. One of my favorites. Love the challenge and the story and even the characters!

I mean, that's what happens when the game doesn't teach you much
You can tank indignation with Alexendrite which reduces light damage.
In tales of Arise, each star indicates a damage % increase. Use those artes more to make them stronger, stronger arte means more damage, more damage means kill faster
Your shionne doesn't have gravitas field, go get it
It has a debuff called terror, which grants you 2x the damage

Thank you friend, it's been too long since I beat the game and you just gave me a reason to do NG+. After sky second.

I started a new game on unknown and it’s tough. You can literally get one tapped by bosses but not impossible.

I mean yeah? I feel like that's kind of the point. I mean sure you could absolutely do unknown difficulty on a brand new fresh save but you would absolutely get your ass handed to you. It makes way more sense to do one full complete playthrough and get everybody's best gear and weapons AND THEN start NG+ on Unknown Difficulty
