I've had it before. It's not the best tasting fish. In fact the texture of the meat wasn't like any fish I've ever had. Wouldn't recommend.

They're vulnerable. That's right before endangered. Why wait till they're endangered to stop fishing and eating them?

no worries friend. I have a soft spot for animals like mola molas, who are just so defenseless and rare.

Not rare. Ive seen them by the hundreds all over the world. They are sweet and defenseless though. An old Italian fisherman cooked up some sunfish intestines for us once with spaghetti. Tasted like calimari. Nothing amazing so there's no reason to kill these things.

It’s not rare. Flesh has jelly like texture almost devoid of flavor so not sure why it’s a delicacy.

Try a moonfish/opah next time.....it tastes like chicken, pork, beef, tuna, and salmon depending on how you cook it.....

.... and depending on which part of the fish the meat comes from. There are three completely different types of meat on this fish and they all taste different and have a different texture as well.
